Should I start doing crunches with fat on my stomach?

I have about 2 inches of stomach fat to lose… 15lbs is my weight loss goal. I’m going to try to lose it in 5-6months… I run 2miles 5 days/wk and I am a very nutritional eater. I rarely eat processed/refined foods.
I want a 6 pack (im a woman) , so should I start doing crunches now, so when the fat recedes, my abs will be visible in a shorter amount of time?
