I have recommended this book to so many people.  Here is why:  it is the ONE AND ONLY fitness book that I have ever come across that literally lays out an entire 30-Day diet.  From breakfast, lunch, snack and dinner to each and every day&#039;s weight and cardio program.  It makes it SO EASY !!  The author doesn&#039;t get too &quot;technical&quot; on anything, so it keeps it short and to the point.  He just lays it out for you.  All you need to do - which I guarentee seldom will ... is to have the discipline to do it day-in and day-out for 30 days. (including weekends!!)  I have a 33 inch waist when I am &quot;out of shape&quot;, I can shed 2 to 2 1/2 inches on my waist in 30 days when I do this program.  I can only imagine what it could do for someone who actually has love handles or a &quot;belly&quot; issue.  Get this book, take 20 minutes to read it from start to finish ... and then go grocery shopping and get the first weeks list of foods.  (very basic stuff!!)  You will go back to this book again and again - I do.  It&#039;s my ace in the hole anytime I feel like I&#039;ve &quot;let myself go&quot; a bit to far after the holidays.

This is an excellent book if you have are overweight, have not exercised in a long time, and are looking to lose body fat.  I can definitely believe the before and after pictures of those participants who followed this program.  Unlike those pictures shown in Bill Phillips Body For Life Book, these pictures do not look doctored.  Although he has certain core exercises for toning that you must engage in, I believe that you can substitute pilates and get the same effect.  As for walking 45 minutes a day at a moderate intensity 6 days a week, walking is one of the easiest things to do, so you would have no excuses.  I think that you can maximize the benefits of this program, my including some resistance training.  The recommended eating plan, which focuses on eating low glycemic carbohydrates is excellent.  Despite allowing myself a &quot;cheat day&quot; once a week, where I eat whatever I want, I have noticed a 4 pound loss in weight and 1 percent reduction in body fat in one month by adhering to the recommended nutrition plan 6 days a week.  While this may not sound like a lot, I am willing to bet that I have probably retained more lean muscle mass than some who has lost significant weight in one month, following another program.  If you lose weight too quickly and sacrafice muscle in the process, you will only gain more weight and fat over the long run and it will become increasingly difficult to loose fat because you will have drastically slowed down your metabolism.  The really good thing about this book is that the program is not so strict that you would likely be inclined to give up after one to two weeks.

I just discoverd that I was a type-2 diabetic.My doctor told me that if I loss some weight(I was 320)I could control the diabetes without medication.I went on what I thought was a fat and sugar free diet and loss some weight quickly but that I bottomed out at 316.I stubeled upon a book signing(I hardly ever go to book stores)and bought the book.I tried theories in the book the same day and discoverd that I was reading the wrong part of the food label.Not only am I never hungry but I am loosing inches and weight.The most importnat thing is that I am just about off of all medications,blood pressure,colesteral,glucophage and completly off of glyburide.My doctor is amazed at the results in this short period of time.My lawyer got the book and his blood sugar droped 100 points in two days. This book works.....
